Studio Slowbag by Tytti Thusberg
SLOWBAG is a collection of bags and baskets made of upcycled harnesses and seat belts. The raw material is industrial waste material or proceeds from the car scrap yards. The design is based on the traditional interlaced technique, with careful handmade finishing. The result is a modern, elegant and timeless bag, which suits for people of all ages and styles and respects the environment.
Tytti Thusberg is an independent finnish sustainable fashion designer behind the SLOWBAG. Her artistic project, supported by the Culture Department of Gipuzkoa province, Basque Country, in 2004 was already named as slow fashion. It was a collection of ecofriendly and recycled sculptures and wearable art dresses. One of those designs was called Safety Dress. It was made of recycled seat belts. This dress inspired her to design a sustainable bag collection.
